TRADEMARKS

The large and experienced trademark group of Grünecker, Kinkeldey, Stockmair & Schwanhäusser has more than 20 professionals including attorneys-at-law and patent and trademark attorneys. The group handles filing, prosecution, opposition and cancellation matters including appeal procedures with regard to German, European and international marks. Group members are admitted to represent cases before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the World International Property Organization (WIPO) as well as before the European Court of Justice (ECJ).

Litigation and licensing of trademarks and other trade designations and name rights including domain names is another main activity of the trademark group.

Successful representation of trademark cases occasionally also involves technical issues, as for example in the field of chemistry, computer sciences, etc. Due to the fact that the firm has patent attorneys working in nearly every aspect of technology, such situations can be handled by forming teams that have the necessary competence in the respective technical field.

The trademark group is actively engaged in all major trademark associations, such as INTA, ECTA, MARQUES and PTMG.
