MATERIAL SCIENCE

The material science group of Grünecker, Kinkeldey, Stockmair & Schwanhäusser is experienced in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Most of the members hold an advanced degree in the material science field and in addition, the group members are proficient in legal matters with respect to European and German patent protection and litigation.

The technological fields covered by the group include making, shaping and treating of steels, non-ferrous metals, ceramics, cermets, super alloys and amorphous alloys, including metal alloys for elevated temperature and alloys for low temperature and cryogenic as well as ammunition, explosives and nano technology. Furthermore, the group is experienced in advanced process technologies such as powder metallurgy, vacuum coating and sputtering. Based on their comprehensive technical knowledge, the group members are up-to-date with recent technical developments for efficiently and cost-effectively handling the cases for our clients.

In addition, the group is permanently engaged in opposition, litigation, opinion work and licensing matters. Dependent on the requirements of the case at hand, the patent attorneys of the group cooperate in flexible litigation teams with the firm's attorneys-at-law to ensure comprehensive services to our clients with in-depth technical and legal expertise.
